the first fifa world cup ever held on african soil came to an end on 11 july 2010. south africa is proud to have delivered a spectacular and successful event. spain tried mostly to score a goal and finally also won the tournament after 121 attempts to score a goal!
due to lots of negative press about south africa some soccer fans were worried and expected high levels of crime, unfinished stadiums and other infrastructure as well as a lack of accommodation. they were even more surprised by the excellent hospitality and great infrastructure they met in south africa. the world cup 2010 was even the 3rd best attended world cup ever!
after four exciting weeks of soccer with 145 goals, the smiling zakumi, the match ball jabulani, lots of waka waka from freshlyground and shakira, even more waving flags from k'naan, the soccer world cup 2010 held in south africa will always be remembered as a fantastic event with lots of vuvuzela noise!
